What you would do, briefly:

The DoO provides oversight and stewardship of ATCA's physical and human assets and financial resources, promoting best practices while ensuring operations align with the organization's mission and goals. Working with the CEO the DoO will manage all aspects of ATCA's operational, technological, financial, and business areas to operate efficiently. The DoO is responsible for the implementation of effective strategies to achieve and maintain operational and financial viability of the association and will directly supervise outsourced venders and support staff.

About Us:

Established in 1962,  ATCA's mission is to serve air traffic management users, providers, and industry partners by promoting cooperation, development and safety in all aspects of airspace integration, and to further the efforts, needs, and success of our members. ATCA is a small association that punches well above its weight. We work with the FAA, DOD, NATCA, NASA and the drone and commercial space sectors.

ATCA is a 501 (c) 6 non-profit located in Alexandria VA, adjacent to the King Street Metro station.

What you will do each day:

  • Manage the day-to-day tasks of the association's operational, financial, and outsourced information technology.
  • Oversee the outsourced business services company and its processes.
  • Oversee the accounting systems to ensure performance strategies and controls follow required regulations and standards.
  • Assess, develop, and implement operational, financial, technological, and accounting policies and procedures to safeguard the association's assets and to facilitate timely and accurate reporting practices.
  • Manage the association's banking and investment activities and liaise with the association's financial advisor.
  • Manage the Professional Service Providers including liability insurance, health insurance, short- and long-term health, event cancellation insurance, and others.
  • Work with the CEO and leadership team to provide analysis and develop business plans needed to guide the association's strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Direct the management of the Headquarters' office and function as the liaison with the Property Management Company.
  • Oversee the contractual and financial aspects of the association's employee benefit programs.
  • Providing Human Resource guidance, training, onboarding, and benefits administration oversight as well as professional development and including with the CEO conducting performance reviews as required.
  • Managing staff resources to support ATCA goals/deliverables and collaborating with senior ATCA team leadership.
  • Participating as needed in ATCA's all hands-on deck activities (mainly meetings and events) and other tasks as needed outside the job description.

 

 

What you will need to be considered:

  • At least five years of relevant experience in business operations (preferably in a membership association or non-profit entity) or other equivalent combination of education and experience.  Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of best practices in association management.   • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, or other business -related field preferred.
  • Skill in managing financial systems and knowledge of non-profit accounting standards and practices a plus.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with related investment practices.
  • Ability to manage employee benefit program.
  • Ability to effectively supervise, mentor, and grow professional staff.
  • Interest in aviation and air traffic management is necessary, and experience in the field is a definite plus.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Emotional intelligence. Leadership, self-reliance, a good attitude, honesty, and people skills.

ATCA utilizes Microsoft Outlook (Word, PowerPoint One Note, Excel) MS 365, Adobe, Zoom, Teams, QuickBooks, Bill.com , stamps.com, Auth.net, Asana, Constant Contact, Dropbox, ElectionBuddy, Google Analytics, Jotform, Survey Monkey, Wetransfer, and Vimeo. The ATCA team uses both PC and Mac hardware and the respective operating systems.
