About the role:
Alcoa Warrick is looking for a professional Health & Safety Trainer with the ability to prepare for, coordinate, and conduct hand-on, participatory Health and Safety educational sessions that introduce workers to resources and rights they can use to identify, prevent, and address health and safety concerns. We're seeking a highly organized, and hard-working candidate to execute and continuously improve its advanced and in-person Health & Safety training programs. Individuals should have a passion for and understanding of personal development through the training process and principles of learning.
Key activities:
- Lead safety training modules, hands on demonstrations, verification, and testing of safe and accurate use of equipment and supervising the efficiency of the training.
- Develop proficiency in the understanding, use of and maintenance of equipment used in training courses as well as equipment, devices, and supplies used in the field.
- Collect feedback of completed training to evaluate and measure results and making improvements where required.
- Maintain a database of all training materials and managing the attendance of the employees in training
- Conduct an analysis to identify the areas of improvement.
- Ensure all required forms are accurately filled out (ie: CPR/1st aid forms, competency exams)
- Capture information and generate required and/or requested reports
- Coordinate development of training manuals and materials, as well as maintain a reference library, and multimedia materials for plant wide use.
- Train assigned instructors and supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training in areas such as new employees' orientation, on-the-job training, environmental health and safety practices, management development, as well as changes in policies, procedures, and technologies.
- Screen, test, counsel, and recommend employees for participation in internal or external training and development programs.
- Keep informed on new developments, methods, and techniques in the human performance technology and training fields.

What you can bring to the role:

- Associate level degree from an accredited college or university with course work in a related field.
- 1-3 years' experience with maintenance/industrial area
- Understanding of safety and environment requirements associated with industrial sites is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft office programs and computer skills.
- Training or Facilitation experience
Skills:
- Ability to work cooperatively with others to acquire required information, assess needs, and effectively transfer knowledge.
- Strong analytical and planning skills to assess training needs and program development to meet identified needs.
- Strong oral communication skills, and ability to connect with individuals at all levels of learning
