About the Role:
A new opening has arisen for an experienced Major Works Coordinator to join our centralised Major Works team supporting our major overhauls across Pinjarra and Wagerup. This pivotal role provides Single Point Accountability to the asset owner for coordinating all aspects of Major Overhauls (MOH) assigned to central maintenance. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of contractors, Alcoa trades, and support resources to achieve challenging safety, cost, and schedule objectives.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Environmental, Health & Safety:
Engage in EHS programs, conduct investigations, and implement improvements.
Develop safety plans, deliver safety inductions, and ensure safe work methods.
Audit safety systems for compliance and effectiveness.
Budgeting & Annual Program Planning:
Collaborate on annual plans and budgets with asset owners.
Facilitate planning for major overhauls, ensuring clear scope, budget, schedule, and resources.
Identify and implement cost and schedule improvements.
Mobilisation & Pre-start:
Coordinate mobilisation and pre-start activities for work groups.
Ensure workgroups are briefed and receive updated plans, schedules, and work packs.
Execution:
Ensure compliance with daily management systems.
Monitor and coordinate daily activities, providing feedback and coaching.
Conduct daily audits for safety, quality, and productivity.
Coordinate de-mobilisation and close-out activities, including final inspections.
Post Overhaul:
Conduct post-overhaul reviews to investigate deviations and implement improvements.
Ensure all claims, transactions, and corrective actions are closed out.
Lead problem-solving processes for sustained improvements.

What you can bring to the role:
Trade qualification or similar professional qualification in a maintenance-associated discipline
Experience in maintenance or operations environments ideally within major overhauls.
Experience in direct supervision or management of employees and contractor workgroups is essential.
Exposure to project management principles.
Demonstrated ability to influence across work groups.
Ability to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders.
