AMD together we advance_

THE TEAM:

AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the AI and HPC landscape. Our mission is to design and market exceptional products—anchored by our Instinct™ GPU portfolio—that power the next generation of computing in enterprise data centers, cloud, and supercomputing environments. If you're excited by AI disruption and want to be part of building something big, join us.

THE ROLE:

Are you a hands-on technical leader ready to shape the future of AI datacenter platforms? This is a unique opportunity to own one of the most technically demanding and business-critical areas in our AI datacenter roadmap. You will set the bar for how system debug is executed, while shaping the success of customer deployments of our Instinct products worldwide.

If you are a technical executive with a deep debug background who thrives at the intersection of leadership, architecture, and execution—we want to speak with you.

THE PERSON:

We are seeking a highly accomplished Technical Director to lead the Instinct Customer Engineering Debug and Co-Solutions Team for our next-generation AI datacenter products. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you will drive critical debug efforts from Day 0—ensuring the reliability, stability, and customer success of cutting-edge datacenter technology.

This is not a typical management role. We need a deep technical leader with proven expertise to solve the most complex, multi-layered challenges alongside world-class architects and engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead customer debug engagements for end-to-end datacenter systems & platforms—silicon, firmware, hardware, system software, and full-stack solutions.

  • Collaborate with silicon, SW, FW architects, post-silicon bring-up leaders, and validation experts to define and execute debug and customer co-engineering strategies.

  • Drive hands-on system, platform and SoC-level debug/validation, including complex stress testing, irritator-driven reproductions, and root cause analysis.

  • Represent debug progress and insights with clarity and impact at the executive VP level, ensuring alignment and accountability across cross-functional teams.

  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and technical excellence, while mentoring senior engineers and technical leaders.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven leadership in datacenter/platform debug within large-scale, complex hardware/software systems.

  • Hands-on debug expertise across system architecture, platform firmware, hardware, and datacenter stack software.

  • Strong track record in building and leading high-performing debug/customer engineering teams.

  • Exceptional ability to articulate technical depth upward to executives and outward to customers, simplifying complexity without losing precision.

  • High adaptability, thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities shift quickly. Extensive experience in debug and validation roles involving OS, FW, Silicon, and HW issues, with a strong emphasis on GPU technologies.

  • Expert knowledge of X86 architecture, SoC design, memory, RAS, power management, system management, BMC, Data Center Infrastructure.

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of leading multiple work streams within tight deadlines.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other relevant field
  • Master's Degree (MS) preferred
  • 12+ years of applicable experience with significant portion in GPU technologies and customer facing roles.
