We're a growing team powering the graphic processing units (GPUs) of Cloud Service Providers such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, etc. As cloud computing sets the tone in the new generation of technology, we work to enable AI, cloud gaming and other creative uses of GPUs in a non-traditional environment.
THE ROLE
Contribute to the team building the software stack for AMD Instinct Accelerators for High Performance Compute (HPC), AI/Machine Learning, Cloud Gaming and/or SaaS for Cloud Service Providers. The individual will be part of a development team which analyzes, develops, tests, and deploys system software to make AMD's product a leader in the cloud.
THE PERSON
The ideal person has strong technical and analytical skills in kernel mode software development. They must have the ability to work as a member of a team, while also being able to work independently, define goals, scope, and lead their own development effort.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with internationally renowned world-class cloud providers to enable AMD Accelerators for HPC and AI
- Develop AMD's GPU virtualization solution spanning Windows/Linux software to a variety of Hypervisors (including KVM, Hyper-V, VMware…etc.)
- Work with cross functional teams to further increase the solution lead between AMD and the competition
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Strong C/C++ programming and software design skills, including debugging, performance analysis, and test design, with a solid object-oriented background and keen attention to detail
- Proficient in Windows and/or Linux operating system development with experience in developing and debugging kernel mode device driver software
- Familiarity with a variety of software development processes and tools, such as debuggers, source code control systems (e.g., GitHub), and profilers, while working in both Windows and Linux environments
- Enjoy tinkering with containers and other new technologies
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated, self-starter with good interpersonal skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- The candidate must have an undergraduate degree in a related field (Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering)
