AMD together we advance_

THE ROLE: Join our cutting-edge physical design team focused on high-performance CPU cores. In this role, you will take ownership of a portion of the core, beginning with synthesis and driving the design through place and route to final signoff. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including CAD, DFT, and Architecture—to optimize critical timing paths and ensure the design meets stringent performance, power, and area targets.

THE PERSON: You are a self-driven engineer with a passion for innovation and continuous learning. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to make a meaningful impact on next-generation CPU designs. If this sounds like you, we'd love to have you on our team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply deep knowledge of logic and transistor-level design principles, CAD tools, and physical design methodologies across functional domains (e.g., clocks, standard cell libraries, synthesis, place and route, electrical analysis).
  • Drive innovation in design implementation, identifying and executing tradeoffs for improved power efficiency and performance.
  • Develop and manage schedules and deliverables several months in advance, including flow step analysis timelines and macro delivery plans.
  • Present well-reasoned technical recommendations during design reviews, offering multiple solution paths and advocating for the most effective approach.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven expertise in logic design, synthesis, place and route, and CAD tools for high-performance digital design.
  • Strong understanding of timing closure, power optimization, and physical verification.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering
