JOB DETAILS:

 

Location: Austin, TX

Onsite: This role requires the student to work from the Austin office (40 hours a week) throughout the duration of the Co-op/Intern term. 

Duration: September 8th, 2025 to December 12th, 2025

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

 

The AMD Client Business Unit's Technical Documentation Department is seeking a highly motivated Technical Writer intern with the knowledge and ability to write and edit engineering-level documents. In this role, you will -

 

  • Collaborate with the team to write and build engineering documents for x86-based computer hardware and software.
  • Be involved in writing both about hardware and software relating to x86-based computer
  • Follow prescribed processes for delivering NDA documentation to engineers.
  • Work on and help organize multiple documents concurrently. You will be expected to work on multiple versions and work with multiple reviewers across the company.   

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited US University, preferable in Junior or Senior year or pursuing a Master's degree studying Technical Writing, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineer. 
  • If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply –
    • Proficient in x86 processor architecture.
    • Familiarity with motherboards that support x86 processors.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Word styles and/or document-level paragraph styles and/or CSS style sheets.
    • Knowledge of DITA XML and Python is a plus.
    • Additionally, experience with Word, FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Visio, Jira, and Confluence is preferred.
