THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a Global Enterprise Datacenter Technical Sales Lead to support AMD commercial solutions, focusing on deep technical engagement with priority global enterprise customers. This role will provide a lead technical interface with global enterprise technical teams and decision makers, in partnership with AMD Field Applications Engineers (FAEs).  The position will function as a technical overlay, and provide incremental technical support to win new business with enterprise.  Key responsibilities include initial enterprise datacenter and cloud assessments, and driving deeper technical depth to understand customer requirements and pain points.  The role will extend to positioning AMD's technical value proposition tailored to each customer's unique needs.  The individual will tie AMD's datacenter solutions to specific customer technical and business outcomes.  It will be critical to partner with OEM and cloud partners on datacenter modernization, complete vertical and horizontal workload analysis, and deliver TCO modeling.  A key priority for this role will be reducing technical friction, and successfully positioning AMD's technical value proposition and leadership vs. competition, with the goal to gain customer commitments to validate through Proof of Concepts (POCs).

  • Proficient in assessing customer infrastructure, and positioning optimal AMD solutions for customer needs
  • Capability to tie AMD enterprise solutions to specific customer technical and business outcomes
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with a good balance of hardware, architecture and software expertise
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong internal (Sales, Marketing, Engineering) and external (customer/partner/OEM) relationships

  • Provide technical voice of the customer internally to improve AMD's capability to grow enterprise server market share

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hunt for and deliver technical assessments for datacenter opportunities with priority enterprise accounts
  • Develop technical relationships with target end customer accounts and enterprise ecosystem influencers
  • Gain Commitments from priority enterprise customer decision makers to evaluate AMD value proposition via POCs
  • Work with FAEs, Sales to successfully meet success criteria and convert to AMD revenue
  • Reduce technical friction, and build technical depth to acquire new priority enterprise opportunities
  • Lead internal effort to accelerate to close technical actions for priority enterprise opportunities, solutioning, and POCs
  • Win new commercial opportunities by working with our partners by establishing technical solutions based on AMD technology
  • Work with AMD internal teams across AMD Business Units to build technical presentations and documentation to be delivered in the field
  • Improve AMD's ability to support large enterprise end customers by driving feedback into AMD BU and engineering teams
  • Partner with sales in determining possible application of AMD based products and solutions to meet customer requirements
  • Translate large enterprise customer business issues and requirements into technical solution opportunities/engagements that best demonstrate AMD based product offerings
  • Influence and evaluate technical specifications and requirements for our partners with their RFPs
  • Possess a solid understanding of the competitive landscape and clearly articulate the technical differentiation and value proposition associated with AMD versus its competitors
  • Proficient in security requirements, certifications, and the AMD-based security solutions for large enterprise customers across the ecosystem including AMD hardware, OS, and OEM platforms
  • Lead technical design sessions; architect and detail technical solutions that are aligned with customer objectives

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

 

If you have a broad technical understanding of Server / Client CPUs, platform architecture and the development process needed to successfully win datacenter and client opportunities with end customers and experience working with large enterprise customers, we'd love to talk.  

 

In addition, we're looking for:  

  • Proven experience working with large enterprise customers  
  • Experience in datacenter solutions, with specialized knowledge of client software environments including Operating systems (Windows, Linux), drivers, benchmarks, and targeted applications that may be used to validate server and workstation platforms. 
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: CPU and Server system architecture, benchmarks, and Server platform enablement 
  • Ability to execute TCO modeling that communicates AMD's financial impact and specific business outcomes for enterprise customers
  • Capability of presenting technology to enterprise customers in a simple and effective manner, that ‘speaks the language' of the customer
  • Good hands-on and solid knowledge of server hardware ecosystem at the node, rack and datacenter level 

 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
