THE ROLE:
Help test the latest CPU products and contribute to issue identification, replication, and problem resolution. This role will be pivotal in bringing AMD's next generation CPU based products into Gaming desktops, Laptops and Data Center.
THE PERSON:
We are seeking a self-driven, hands-on individual to manage and execute day-to-day laboratory operations supporting socket and connector development. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining a world-class lab environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform advanced testing and analysis: Conduct thermo-mechanical and electrical tests on sockets and connectors, including data collection, assembly, and modification of test fixtures and assemblies.
- Manage logistics and inventory: Oversee overseas shipping and receiving, process purchase order requests, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Ensure compliance and safety: Proactively maintain laboratory and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Coordinate with external partners: Work with contract manufacturers (CMs) to procure and ship test PCBAs, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Train and mentor lab users: Provide training on best practices for safe and effective equipment operation; maintain calibration records and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering teams: Partner with design and development teams to troubleshoot issues, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that enhance testing efficiency and accuracy.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory operations and testing methodologies
- Extensive hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, instrumentations and skills such as Instron, low level contact resistance metrology, PCBA, microscopes, coordinate measurement machines, thermocouples, CNC machining
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, LabVIEW, MATLAB, JMP, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
