THE ROLE:
You will serve as the global owner and technical program lead for AMD's enterprise Transportation Management System (TMS), defining strategy, selecting technology partners, and delivering scalable, automated transportation capabilities across AMD's global supply chain. This role owns the full system lifecycle—from requirements and architecture through vendor selection, implementation, integration, global deployment, and long‑term sustainment—and acts as the single‑threaded owner partnering closely with Logistics, IT, Procurement, Finance, Trade Compliance, and regional operations teams to deliver measurable business value. With a strong focus on automation and AI‑enabled capabilities across transportation planning, execution, visibility, exception management, and analytics, this position operates with high autonomy and broad cross‑functional influence to modernize AMD's logistics technology ecosystem.
THE PERSON:
You are a technically grounded program leader who thrives at the intersection of logistics operations, enterprise systems, and data. You are comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy, making architecture‑level decisions, and driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups. You bring structure to ambiguity, communicate clearly at both working and executive levels, and maintain a strong bias toward scalable, standardized solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own AMD's global TMS strategy, architecture, and multi‑year roadmap, ensuring alignment with enterprise logistics and supply chain objectives.
- Lead end‑to‑end TMS vendor selection, including business and technical requirements development, RFP execution, evaluation, and recommendation.
- Serve as the principal program manager for global TMS implementation, deployment, and regional rollout across transportation modes and business units.
- Partner with IT and external vendors on system design, integrations (ERP, WMS, data platforms), security, and data architecture.
- Translate complex logistics and business requirements into functional and technical system specifications.
- Drive transportation process standardization and optimization enabled by TMS capabilities while supporting necessary regional variation.
- Identify, design, and scale automation and AI‑enabled use cases (e.g., predictive ETAs, exception management, carrier performance insights, cost optimization).
- Establish governance models, operating rhythms, KPIs, and dashboards to track system performance, adoption, and business outcomes.
- Lead change management, including stakeholder alignment, training strategy, documentation, and user adoption across global teams.
- Own post‑deployment lifecycle management, including enhancements, releases, vendor performance management, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure TMS processes and data support global trade compliance, audit readiness, and internal control requirements.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or enterprise systems roles within a global, high‑tech, or manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise‑scale system implementations (TMS strongly preferred), including vendor selection and global deployment.
- Strong technical program management skills with experience managing complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
- Solid understanding of transportation operations, carrier management, freight settlement, and logistics data flows.
- Experience working with system integrations, data analytics platforms, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL‑based datasets).
- Exposure to automation, optimization, or AI/ML applications within supply chain or logistics environments.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., PMP, APICS, Six Sigma) are a plus.
LOCATION:
- Austin, TX (Hybrid)
