Manager, CPU Diagnostics, Validation and AI Transformation

THE ROLE:

You will lead the Bangalore CPU Diagnostics team within a globally distributed organization spanning Austin, Bangalore, and Singapore. This role is accountable for execution excellence across post-silicon validation content, SLT manufacturing stress content, CReST pattern development for wafer sort and final test, and RMA debug and reproduction support. You will own planning, delivery governance, and cross-site alignment with Austin leadership to deliver quality, predictability, and measurable business impact. In addition, you will be expected to embed AI thinking into the organization's operating model—identifying high-value use cases, scaling practical AI solutions across diagnostics and validation workflows, and ensuring the team uses AI to accelerate engineering productivity, improve debug efficiency, strengthen data-driven decision making, and raise the quality of technical execution and reporting.

This leader will participate and motivate the team in the definition and deployment of an AI-enabled diagnostics strategy by combining domain expertise with modern automation, analytics, and AI techniques to improve cycle time, increase coverage, enhance failure analysis, and enable scalable knowledge capture across the team.

THE PERSON:

You are a strong technical leader with deep CPU validation and diagnostics expertise and a proven track record of people leadership. You are structured, delivery-oriented, and effective at balancing urgent debug demands with long-range content roadmaps. You know how to coach engineers, establish disciplined operating rhythms, and influence cross-functional teams across geographies. You bring systems-level thinking, data-driven decision making, and clear executive communication. You also bring an AI-forward mindset: you can translate emerging AI capabilities into practical engineering value, champion responsible experimentation, prioritize scalable use cases, and build team expectations around adopting AI to improve productivity, insight generation, and execution quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead and grow the Bangalore team, including hiring, onboarding, goal setting, coaching, and performance management, while setting clear expectations for AI fluency and AI-assisted execution across the organization.

- Own weekly and quarterly execution plans across key Bangalore deliverables, including:

- Post-silicon validation content development, with a focus on improving coverage, efficiency, and reuse through automation and AI-assisted workflows where appropriate.

- SLT stress content for manufacturing readiness and quality, including opportunities to apply data analytics and AI-driven insights to improve coverage and issue detection.

- CReST patterns for wafer sort (WS) and final test (FT), with emphasis on scalable methodologies, pattern quality, and data-informed optimization.

- RMA debug, failure reproduction, and root-cause acceleration, leveraging AI and data-driven techniques to improve triage speed, failure signature analysis, and insight generation.

- Establish rigorous tracking for milestones, dependencies, risks, and recovery plans; provide clear status, escalations, and decision support to Austin leadership using data-rich and AI-assisted reporting where it improves clarity and speed.

- Partner with Austin and Singapore technical leads to prioritize work, balance resources, and maintain common quality standards, methodologies, and AI adoption practices across sites.

- Improve engineering productivity through process standardization, reusable frameworks, intelligent automation, and measurable reductions in cycle time and execution overhead.

- Define and drive the team's AI strategy within diagnostics and validation flows, including identification, prioritization, piloting, and scaling of high-value use cases such as anomaly detection, failure signature clustering, pattern optimization, automated insight generation, and knowledge capture.

- Ensure technical rigor through review mechanisms, content quality gates, model and workflow validation where applicable, and postmortem-driven continuous improvement.

- Represent Bangalore execution in global reviews and communicate concise updates on progress, risks, dependencies, support required from senior stakeholders, and measurable impact from AI-enabled improvements.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

- 10+ years in CPU or semiconductor post-silicon validation, diagnostics, test, or product engineering.

- 3+ years of direct people management experience in high-performance engineering teams.

- Demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional delivery programs with global stakeholders, measurable outcomes, and a track record of driving operational improvements through automation or AI-enabled approaches.

- Strong understanding of manufacturing test ecosystem, including SLT, WS, FT, and quality/reliability considerations.

- Experience in debug and failure analysis workflows, including RMA reproduction and data-driven root-cause investigation.

- Strong working knowledge of AI/ML techniques, data analytics, and modern engineering tooling (for example Python-based analytics, model prototyping, workflow automation, and data pipelines), with evidence of translating these capabilities into practical engineering deployment and measurable business value.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including leadership reporting, executive-level updates, and the ability to articulate AI opportunities, tradeoffs, risks, and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.

LOCATION:

- Bangalore, India
