THE ROLE:
The requisition is for a Server Marketing Operations Manager role within the Datacenter Business Unit. The role is customer-facing and will focus on AMD's large server datacenter partners in the US who are enabling server solutions around AMD silicon. This individual will be responsible for enabling sell-through strategies for the platforms to ensure revenue capture and managing Marketing operations activities between AMD and key OEM customers.
The ideal candidate will possess a breadth of abilities and skills, including: CPU product knowledge, server architecture awareness, strong marketing and presentation skills, solid understanding of customers' business and decision makers, and strong team leadership to drive progress on each account. You must be self-driven, and capable of operating autonomously.
The applicant must be a team player with a commitment to meeting deadlines and an aptitude to thrive in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
THE PERSON:
To be successful in this role, one should have the following knowledge or experience:
- Knowledge of modern server platform architecture including knowledge of the processor with the ability to communicate in a simple manner.
- Outstanding written, oral communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple simultaneous projects with an unstructured or ambiguous environment.
- Highly results driven and self-motivated with the ability to work as a team member and individually.
- Understands both user and buyer personas for server and server processor products and services.
- Understand customer pain points, goals, and opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain annual MDF plan between AMD and OEM partner
- Marketing Plan – partner with Marketing Development manager to contribute to the development and maintenance of a marketing plan with alignment from key stakeholders both internal and external.
- Launches - Work with internal and external partners for launch activities including evaluation of effectiveness. Align with OEM partner timelines.
- Events - Provide needed market and solution information to support marketing events such as conferences, trade shows and webinars.
- Competitive Landscape – build and maintain competitive marketing landscape overview for use in aligning Marketing plan and MDF investment focus.
- Awareness – while developing programs, marketing, and content, continually focus on awareness of the AMD brand while driving customer acquisitions.
- Web presence – monitor and maintain AMD and OEM partner web assets to ensure accurate representation of AMD brand and proper positioning of products and solutions.
- Marketing Programs - Be a subject matter expert providing marketing and solutions support for both internal and external marketing programs. Maintain a dashboard of activities and manage marketing funds.
- Manage communications with relevant stakeholders from strategy development through execution and alignment with OEM Partner.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- 8+ years of experience in the computing industry, at the OEM, ODM, or technology provider level
- 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing marketing role
- Development of a grounds up market plan with key stakeholder alignment.
- Cross functional collaboration and alignment both internal and with customers in running events, launching product, development of collateral, development of a campaign.
- Experience in cross organizational discussions ranging from Engineering to Sales and from individual contributor to Vice President.
- Successful development of multiple marketing campaigns using third party resources.
- Management of marketing funds with return on analysis post-delivery analysis.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing preferred, MBA a plus
LOCATION:
Austin, TX
Some travel typically @ 10-15% (up to 25%), is expected. Travel will be regionally within US.
