THE ROLE:

Join AMD's team of highly skilled professionals in managing the quality performance of key customers in the production of our leading-edge Client product portfolio. Our presence in region gives this customer quality engineering team exposure to multiple AMD sales, platform, product development teams and manufacturing operation teams. The directive of this role is to provide a differentiated quality experience, improve customer satisfaction, and to build customer confidence with a focus on AMD customer satisfaction across the Product Introduction & volume ramp/sustaining phases. This is a high visibility role that acts as a key interface into our Client Customers' Factory sites and field service sites in Vietnam and Thailand.

 

THE PERSON:

Ideal candidate is an experienced self-starter and good influencer, able to work both independently as well as in teams and across business units to accomplish tasks in a timely manner. Effective presentation skills & good negotiation skills. Fluent in both Mandarin Chinese and English.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead customer interface for AMD Client APU/CPU product quality and reliability support.
  • Play a critical role as the key contact for product quality and post-sales support for AMD customers, accurately represent customer's requirement within AMD.
  • Interact with AMD's key customer's procurement, quality, and manufacturing contacts to understand customer requirements and resolve quality and reliability issues related to the product qualification, ramp, and high-volume manufacturing.
  • Provide AMD's cross functional team with customer priorities to ensure resources are aligned to support critical activities.
  • Manage the overall customer quality relationship and work closely with customers to fully understand their business from a quality perspective.
  • Escalate potential issues to AMD's management to avoid customer disruption and ensure timely resolution.
  • Program-manage cross functional technical teams to identify containment and determine root cause for Customer issues. Cross functional teams may consist of Client Product Line Quality (PLQ) team, Client Platform Engineering, Product Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Failure Analysis, Client Customer Engineering, Sales Ops and Supplier Quality Engineering.
  • Provides post sales technical expertise during the installation, implementation and maintenance of AMD's products at the customer production or field service site. May be involved in implementing detailed customer installation requirements.
  • Track & Present Customer Factory consumption data and DPPM (defective parts per million) data.
  • Improve customer engineering service efficiency via metrics optimization and monitoring.
  • Willing and able to frequent travel between Hanoi, Vietnam and Thailand (Bangkok / Pattaya areas) as required for customer factory & field service site visits.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-10 years of related experience in the areas of Semiconductor Platform, Product Engineering, or Quality Engineering.
  • Possess strong technical knowledge of computer products such as notebook and desktop systems.
  • JMP/Minitab experience, Python programming skill is plus

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Minimum B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Materials Science or similar.
