Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring an MTS Systems Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Improve pre-silicon system validation coverage. Design and develop test environment components to support the pre-silicon validation of embedded firmware, BIOS code features, SW, and directed tests. Write directed tests to verify features in a co-simulated and emulated/FPGA hardware environment. Write monitors and checkers to support end-to-end firmware/hardware validation. Write and developing coverage goals and test plans. Run emulator workloads to test new features. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of or wide-ranging experience with computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, design techniques, tools, and principles to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in job offered or closely related engineering role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field, and Five 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered, or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
To qualify for the position with a master's and three (3) years of experience: position requires three (3) years of experience in the following:
- Debugging software and SoC models in emulation environment;
- Creating test plan strategies;
- Performing hardware verification and validation;
- Developing test content using Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;
- Functional verification of microprocessors;
- C, C++, or Python; and
- FPGA architecture, x86-64 architecture, and SoC architecture.
To qualify for the position with a Bachelor's and five (5) years of experience: position requires five (5) years of experience in the following:
- Debugging software and SoC models in emulation environment;
- Creating test plan strategies;
- Performing hardware verification and validation;
- Developing test content using Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;
- Functional verification of microprocessors;
- C, C++, or Python; and
- FPGA architecture, x86-64 architecture, and SoC architecture.
