THE ROLE:

You will be a technology leader who drives Optics Testing development from concept to production. You would be collaborating with product design teams and technology development partners to understand future product needs and define Si Photonics test roadmap that includes process definition, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Yield (DFY) guidelines. You will be responsible for driving technology development initiatives from concept to qualifications and lead cross functional teams across geos in designing and developing novel technologies and processes. This role focuses on developing production test solutions for silicon photonics. You will be part of a larger team that defines test solutions from concept, development, to production deployment.

You will be responsible for executive level communication on technology development progress, driving technical problem solving to address yield, reliability and process development challenges as needed. You will also engage with worldwide ecosystem partners to gather data, analyze, and identify solutions.

THE PERSON:

This is a technical leadership position that requires engineering experience in semiconductor test with a focus on silicon photonics. You will have a proven ability to tackle complex test and manufacturing challenges for various silicon photonics & optical interconnect technologies. You will naturally have excellent communication and coordination skills across various teams and capable of defining long-term test solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with product architects in early definition stage to understand and define Test strategy and roadmap
• Collaborate with silicon design, product & test, and packaging teams to architect & define test solutions for silicon photonics at wafer sort, die-level, and CPO-level
• Collaborate with design, packaging, and key suppliers to understand structural and parametric mechanisms for performance, yield, reliability, and quality issues
• Interface with suppliers to provide technical inputs & test requirements to enable production-worthy end-to-end solutions
• Deep knowledge to train other teams & engineers in the field of silicon photonics from design, packaging, to volume test
• Responsible for identifying & mitigating test challenges and executing large technical projects and processes in a timely manner
• Design Optical Test and work with external vendors to develop the eco-system

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES:

• Prior experience developing photonics coupler assembly, test, DFM
• Optical interconnects and silicon photonics experiences
• Familiar with general test & manufacturing of silicon photonics
• Experiences in semiconductor technology development role and experiences working with manufacturing partners such as suppliers, OSATs and foundry partners.
• Hands on leadership experience driving cross-functional teams
• Proven track of leading technology qualification for advanced data-center products

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS/MS/PhD in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
