THE ROLE: 

AMD is looking for an influential software engineer who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks. You will be a member of a team of talented industry specialists and will work in driving advanced exploration for next generation GPU architectures and micro-architectures for the next generation workloads.

 

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate should be passionate about system architecture, performance modeling, AI models and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with a set of partners.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Work as part of AMD's GPU Architecture and Performance Team to develop future AMD products.
  • Run simulation models for new products and analyze results to characterize both the product and workloads.
  • Keep abreast of new workloads, particularly for AI models.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware architects, system engineers and business teams in evaluating and understanding performance characteristics.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Strong understanding of system architecture and hardware design
  • Experience with modeling of systems
  • Understanding of AI workloads at a detailed level
  • GPU software development and parallel programming
  • Analytical and performance analysis skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Software development in C++ and Python
  • Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills
  • Recent experience, particularly in areas of GPU/parallel programming, computer architecture, machine learning and software engineering.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
