THE ROLE:
As a passionate and dedicated member of the CG SOC Power team, you will collaborate on the next generation of products for some of AMD's most important clients. You will engage in System on Chip and IP power architecture exploration, modeling, and analysis for Customer-specific markets and workloads.

Self-driven and motivated individual who enjoys exploring power topics and working across multiple teams to deliver the best possible Perf/W.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate closely with CG customers to understand unique customer market requirements, workloads, and use cases of interest to customer-specific applications.
- Work across AMD and with CG architects to utilize the company's power management feature set to create an optimal customer-focused solution.
- Integrate with SOC and IP Architects to understand the SOC and IP design architecture, to ensure features of interest are properly implemented and optimally architected.
- Collect data from silicon which can be used for power modeling projections
- Construct an SOC power model within AMD modeling framework that is uniquely tailored for AMD CG customer-specific requirements.
- Analyze power modeling results and use these to drive design teams towards best practices for reducing power.
- Conduct power modeling simulations using RTL netlists for customer specific applications and workloads using AMD's power modeling environment.
- Collaborate with power management firmware architects, optimize firmware routines and optimize system power and performance.
- Optimize customer use cases in terms of absolute power and in relative performance per watt.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent organization, and communication skills.
- Very good understanding of CPU, GPU, IO, and computer system architecture.
- Good understanding of device physics, related to power dissipation.
- Meticulous attention to details.
- Platform power measurement and prototyping.
- Working experience of UNIX/Linux operating systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with VCS-NLP simulations, Primetime PX, Power Artist, or similar EDA power simulation tool.
- Optionally experience with UPF power intent is helpful.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Electrical Engineering, Computer architecture, or Computer Science with commercial experience required, or
- Master of Science degree with emphasis in Electrical Engineering, Computer architecture, or Computer Science
