THE ROLE:
This dynamic, highly visible role drives product Quality & Reliability from concept to end of life to ensure a differentiated experience, improve customer satisfaction and build customer confidence. The suitable candidate will lead and be accountable for Quality & Reliability for all AMD datacenter CPU products. This is a high visibility role for highly experienced candidates.
THE PERSON:
Must have an excellent understanding of NPI flow to lead cross-functional activities across design, platform, operations, and customer system bring-up and manufacturing to meet product quality and reliability requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Influencing Fab and OSAT suppliers to meet product quality requirements including NUDD (New, Unique, Different, Difficult) for future technologies.
- Define and manage product reliability qualification requirements and activities.
- Measure and improve outgoing product quality through product end-of-life.
- Maintaining robust Quality Processes & Quality Management Systems.
- Close coordination with product/test engineering team for test gap debug and coverage solution implementation.
- Interface between customer facing Customer Quality Engineering and the internal NPI team.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Comfortable dealing with cross functional teams within AMD that requires structured problem solving and strong communication skills.
- Experience in structured problem solving is necessary to ask questions in various “core team” meeting setting.
- Extensive experience in product quality, reliability or product engineering, preferably in semiconductor industry.
- Experience with semiconductor manufacturing and test flow fab, bump, assembly, test.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines.
- Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization is expected.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or similar.
