THE ROLE:

AMD's Quality Team is looking for a skilled program manager to support operations planning and execution of customer returns testing. This position plays a multifunctional role in a small team, providing experience as a key contributor in a variety of aspects of the operation.  This position will support our global operations through budget planning, material planning, procurement, and operational metrics. This role involves working with various AMD teams to gather inputs into planning and communicate plans to stakeholders. The position supports all newly released and upcoming AMD products.

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively. They communicate clearly and collaborate well across diverse teams and technical topics, facilitating meetings and coordinating responsibilities in a professional and respectful manner. Experience in technology-related environments is valuable, and familiarity with computer test equipment is a plus.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gather planning inputs from AMD teams. (roadmaps, volume forecasts, Test Equipment BOM)
  • Prepare budgets for Test Hardware and Operations based on collected inputs.
  • Present consolidated budget rollups to management.
  • Track hardware and labor expenses against approved budgets.
  • Compare and approve labor invoices against expected spend.
  • Calculate and report program ROI by tracking spend versus cost savings.
  • Capture hardware requirements for future platforms and coordinate order placement with suppliers.
  • Identify sources of supply and negotiate with vendors for required hardware.
  • Ensure on-time delivery through sourcing and expediting supplier shipments.
  • Resolve shipping and receiving issues to maintain procurement timelines.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Semiconductor industry experience.
  • Working familiarity with computer systems and component hardware functionality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
  • Competency in productivity tools. (for example: Confluence, JIRA)
  • Ability to solve complex problems, work with ambiguity and self-motivated.
  • Procurement experience is a plus.

 

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree preferred.
