PROGRAM MANAGER 2 

 

THE ROLE: 

We are in search of an experienced program manager with strong analytical, problem-solving and risk management skills. Ability to work efficiently and manage effective relationships in a cross-functional organization to meet commitments for successful customer program launches. Must be self-directed and work in complex and dynamic ecosystems. 

 

THE PERSON: 

As a Program Manager you will partner with our cross functional teams to manage customer accounts and their portfolio, understand our customers platforms/solutions. Identify and document customer requirements and establish engineering schedules. Drive AMD product solution deliverables and alignment with customers' platforms to ensure highest level customer satisfaction throughout their product lifecycle.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Program Manager – Embedded Software (Data Center & SPSE)

    AMD India (SPSE) is looking for a strong program Manager to handle the programs for Embedded Software development team to lead and deliver modular, quality oriented, and extensible FW infrastructure. In this role, you will support the development and execution of complex, multidisciplinary SoC projects. You will help plan programs and manage their execution from early concepts through to production. You will collaborate closely with architecture, design, verification, physical implementation, and manufacturing teams throughout the SoC life cycle. Closely collaborate with peer development and QA teams, architecture, customer support and product line management. As a key member of the Engineering management staff, contribute to the vision and strategy of continuous integration, improved development processes, quality and productivity improvements.

    Ideal candidates will have:

    • 12+ years (or more) of overall relevant industry experience and a track record of shipping server/storage/networking products for the enterprise, cloud data center and service provider markets.
    • 12 years of experience in software or hardware development/integration and technical program management.
    • 12 years of experience in product engineering, leading mobile and compute chip development, first silicon bring-up and high volume production enablement.
    • 12 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
    • Experience with chips and embedded systems used in mobile devices.
    • Experience in product development, program management, project management, professional services or engineering management.
    • Experience working in the consumer electronics industry, executing technical programs with external partnerships.
    • Experience in a high-tech industry.
    • Prior experience for managing ISV (Independent Software Vendors) and enabling IBV(Independent BIOS Vendors) for enabling x86 / ARM platforms.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills should be a quick learner and a team player.
    • Manage communication of progress/status with stakeholders and leadership in various locations and time zones, own and nurture relationships between cross-functional teams.
    • Assess complexities and scope out the project through design, development, test, implementation, deployment, and sustaining activities.
    • Manage risks and evaluate mitigation, and paths to success as needed.
    • Support the team in promoting clear communication, making decisions and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Implement process improvements to streamline product development.
    • Experience customization of the firmware for different platforms & features.
    • Prior experience in customer facing / applications engineering role will be a big plus.
    • Deep understanding of full product life cycle, software development methods (both Agile and Waterfall), and development and build environments.
    • Ability to drive multi-geo projects by working effectively with remote teams.
    • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, highly dynamic environment, with a bias towards action and results.
    • Conflict resolution skills including ability to bridge style difference.
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, listening, and written communication skills, both within the team and across the organization.
    • Ability to mentor/coach/teach/facilitate and lead change in a highly technical/dynamic team.
    • Tech/B.E in CS/EC or EE

     

    Role & Responsibilities as an embedded software program manager:

    • Owner of the program management for all new and sustaining AMD EPYC Server, DC GPU Products.
    • Responsible for partnering leveraging the all the development work done by Core engineering in Client and Server teams, with a strong focus on enabling differentiating features for the success of Embedded Business.
    • Create schedule for platform & BIOS bring-up, AGESA PI code integration, validation, and delivery plan for AMD Embedded Platforms.
    • Prior experience for managing ISV (Independent Software Vendors) and enabling IBV(Independent BIOS Vendors) for enabling x86 / ARM platforms.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills should be a quick learner and a team player.

    • Engage and enable with IBVs from time to time to ensure all BIOS vendors are equally enabled to support to embedded customers.
    • Partner with Platform team to bring-up the BIOS and firmware during Embedded SOC bring-up.
    • Partner with HW and Silicon validation teams for verification of all embedded features in the Silicon IP.
    • Technical and Project management of Vendor deliverables for the BIOS development and QA.
    • Support external partnerships with ISV / IBVs to facilitate business growth within and across verticals.
    • Provide product and technology feedback and consultancy into Enterprise product management, Enterprise Server Systems and SW efforts, and AMD technology and product planning

     

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering 
  • Formal project management education, PMP / Scrum Master
