THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced BOM Manager to own and optimize the Bill of Materials process across all stages of the product lifecycle—from early-stage new product introduction (NPI), through active production, to end-of-life (EOL) management. This role serves as the central point of coordination between engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure BOM accuracy, configuration control, and seamless transitions as products evolve. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong organizational skills, a demonstrated capacity for creative problem solving, excellent communication skills, and a desire to work with cross-functional teams to enable the development of ground-breaking products. Your contributions will make a pronounced difference to future AMD GPUs for High Performance Computing (HPC) and Machine Learning (ML).
THE ROLE
You will drive the delivery of industry-leading solutions and product launches across AMD products and our target markets. You will help with process improvement while increasing communication and collaboration with stakeholders on engineering and business teams.
THE PERSON
You are a strong communicator who understands both high-level strategies and detailed tactical matters. Results oriented, you are resourceful and can work effectively to influence a variety of stakeholders. You demonstrate a strong knowledge of and execution of program management, an outstanding track record of delivering product launches, and experience with complex projects that span HW, SW and working with OEMs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage BOM revision control, ensuring all changes are documented, reviewed, and approved through the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
- Maintain BOM structures, including multi-level, phantom, and configurable BOMs, as appropriate for the product architecture.
- Prepare scenarios to utilize available materials, systems and equipment to support key program deliverables and customer engagements
- Identify risks and define mitigation strategies to address
- Respond to program challenge resulting from supply issues, engineering/product issues and budget
- New Product Introduction (NPI) Support
- Partner with design engineering to build and validate prototype and pilot BOMs during the development cycle.
- Ensure BOM readiness for manufacturing transfers, including verification of approved vendor lists (AVL), component specifications, and alternate parts.
- Coordinate BOM signoff milestones aligned with stage-gate or phase-gate review processes.
Sustaining Engineering & Change Management
- Process and track ECOs/ECNs that affect active product BOMs, coordinating impact assessments across engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing.
- Update 100 bom level FRU files as required
- Update BKC files in Agile as required
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the primary BOM subject-matter expert for internal stakeholders, including design engineering, manufacturing engineering, procurement, quality, and program management.
- Develop and enforce BOM governance standards, naming conventions, and data quality requirements.
- Provide BOM-related training and support to engineering and operations teams.
Systems & Data Integrity
- Ensure BOM data accuracy and consistency.
- Generate reports and dashboards on BOM health metrics such as completeness, accuracy, and change cycle time.
- Identify and drive process improvements to streamline BOM management workflows and reduce errors using AI and other tools.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in BOM management, configuration management, or a related engineering operations role within a hardware product company.
- Strong working knowledge of Agile PLM system.
