THE ROLE: 

The Advanced Rendering Research Team at AMD develops graphics research that improves the most powerful GPU applications from desktop to cloud, including AAA games, movie quality rendering, supercomputing, bitcoin mining and beyond.  As the ARR Program Manager, you will drive end-to-end tactical execution of the research and development of leading-edge technology in high performance, GPU-accelerated compute, and machine learning research.  You will interact with ARR engineering management, product management, software and hardware engineering teams, quality assurance and release management.  You will also be collaboratively driving the group's roadmap.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who can engage with key stakeholders at all levels. 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

·         Manage various sized projects of varying complexity and team size   

·         Accountable for all phases of planning and execution for projects  

·         Communicate with cross- functional teams, lines of business and senior management to provide status and manage expectations 

·         Accountable for the maintenance and accuracy of project/ program documentation, systems, and spaces  

·         Contribute to process and quality improvement initiatives with good understanding of business process and industry 

·         Follow up of actions items and conduct lesson learned  

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

·         5+ years of experience managing various medium to large software development projects with moderate to high complexity   

·         Mastery of basic principles of project management tools and methods  

·         Strong experience in day-to-day tasks on the project including using PM tools, maintaining a schedule, managing risks, assumptions, issues and actions log, POR change requests  

·         Experience in overseeing PM processes from Initiation to Close  

·         Managing programs with one or more project dependencies  

·         Strong understanding of multiple development methodologies  

·         Some experience managing global team  

·         Understands industry and business environment  

·         Skilled in MS Office, Outlook, JIRA, Confluence 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

·         BS, or higher, in Engineering strongly preferred 

·         PMP Certified a plus
