THE ROLE: 

Our team designs and develops large scale infrastructure software and tools that connects requirements with other sub systems within the company that help fuel development and release of AMD's products. We use a top tier technology (JAMA) to manage our product and program requirement, risk, and test management. We are a fast-paced agile team where we embrace change and open teamwork, we need you to help the team build a highly usable and scalable software solution for our rapidly growing business.

 

THE PERSON: 

Join us if you are passionate about solving problems and working with the latest technologies, both hardware and software! We are looking for someone experienced with OO design in multi-tiered architectures, comfortable with both Windows and Linux. Requirements gathering and organizing is a plus, although strong written and verbal communication is a must.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Passion for building quality software
  • Commercial application development experience, preferably (but not limited to) in a Microsoft Windows platform using Microsoft Visual Studio and C#.Net
  • Deep understanding of all aspects constructing a service-oriented enterprise system with an emphasis on the backend
  • Experience working on both client and server side to produce high performance applications powered by scalable web services
  • Experience in designing, development and testing of API layer preferably using ASP.NET Web API 2
  • Solid object-oriented programming, multi-threading and problem-solving skill
  • Strong debugging skills
  • Strong data modeling experience which can be demonstrated by:
  • Ability to create a reasonably normalized relational model, indexes, views, lookup tables, etc. and working knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with modern ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework
  • Proven interpersonal skills
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken English 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Strong object-oriented programming background, C/C++ preferred 
  • Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail 
  • Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs 
  • Experience with Windows, Linux and/or Android operating system development  
  • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus 
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Master's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • Must have 5+ years of strong software development experience

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
