Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Level 2/ Engineer to join our growing team and take ownership of Linux device driver validation and debugging efforts. You will be responsible for ensuring the functionality, performance, and stability of device drivers across various Linux platforms and hardware configurations. You will work closely with the development team, product managers to identify and debug driver issues efficiently, contributing to the seamless operation and success of our products.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans for validating device driver functionality across various Linux distributions, kernel versions, and hardware platforms.
  • Collaborate with developers to debug and troubleshoot driver issues, analyze crash dumps, and identify root causes of failure.
  • Contribute to the improvement of driver performance and stability by suggesting code optimizations and bug fixes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Linux kernel developments and industry best practices in device driver debug and validation.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation on driver testing procedures and identified issues.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of driver-related problems.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of driver debug and validation processes and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Linux device driver validation or debugging.
  • Strong understanding of the Linux kernel architecture, System Design, and architecture
  • Proficiency in C and/or C++ programming languages is a big plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation purposes is a big plus and preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of debugging tools and techniques, including gdb, strace, klog, and perf.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with specific device driver types (e.g., USB, I2C, PCI, networking) relevant to our products.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms like KVM and QEMU is a plus
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and real-time operating systems is a plus
