SENIOR MANAGER SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER  

 

THE ROLE: 

AMD seeks a passionate, collaborative leader with strong technical skills and the initiative to motivate an expert engineering team.

As a Senior Manager Silicon Design Engineering, you will lead a System on Chip (SoC) team, responsible for the integration of multiple subsystems and IP to produce high performance SoC products.  You will be joining a team of passionate, industry leading developers, who are delivering the next generation of SoC ASICs.

 

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate has experience leading others in technical and managerial settings. You also have excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead a high-performance engineering team of designers and verification engineers
  • Creating design and verification specifications 
  • Deliver SoC level RTL designs for a variety of SoC products
  • Develop verification environments, integrating required VIPs and creating test cases to confirm SoC
  • Execute SoC DRCs and QoR checks mandated by AMD's ASIC methodology
  • Planning and coordination of needed integration tasks and schedules across multi-functional, multi-geo teams
  • Manage contract resources

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum 12+ years experience with at least 4 years leading front-end design or verification teams through delivery of complex digital IP blocks and/or SoCs
  • A strong leader with experience working with a distributed team  
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills  
  • Strong knowledge of IP front-end design and verification methodologies, EDA tools
  • Experience integrating hard IP and soft IPs including industry standard and proprietary interfaces (i.e. SerDes, PCIe)
  • Understanding of standard bus/interface protocols (i.e. AXI, AHB, AMBA)
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and standards (such as Ethernet) and packet processing applications
  • Familiarity with encryption protocols (such as MACsec and IPsec) and security technologies for digital communication systems
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication, time management, and presentation skills

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
