Sr. Program Manager

 

SUMMARY ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Sr Technical Program Manager for the S3 (Strategic Silicon Solutions) SOC team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring that new product development program execution is successfully driven in line with the project(s) scope, schedule, and budget. The candidate must have a strong understanding of the general silicon engineering process, from concept to tape-out to production.  A key component of this role involves working closely with AMD and third-party IP suppliers, an SOC team spread across the globe and the SOC architecture team to ensure continual forward progress is maintained, status reporting is timely and accurate, and key issues are driven with appropriate urgency. This is a cross-functional role that involves engagement across all engineering disciplines and business units to meet project objectives. This position offers deep exposure to industry leading CPUs, Graphics, GPU Compute, Machine Learning, and related technologies. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivering on all assigned program commitments from inception through execution to tapeout & production
  • Resolving cross-domain dependencies and enabling progress to meet planned schedule
  • Delivering assigned program(s) within POR schedule, budget and scope
  • Driving program scoping & development cost roll up for a given budget, customer requirements & SOC bounding box.
  • Acting as a key liaison between IP and SOC execution teams on all matters pertaining to successful project execution, IP delivery and negotiation
  • Driving incorporation of initiatives and process improvements at the functional, cross-functional, and corporate level into assigned program(s)
  • Ownership of status reporting and issue messaging to key stakeholders, including senior executives and customers. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Around ~20+ years program management or technical leadership experience in SOC execution. Minimum 5 years of strong experience in SOC program management and end-to-end SOC execution.
  • Ability to scope a SOC program end to end – resource/HC, complexity, effort, milestones, schedule and cost.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and leadership skills; ability to lead technical discussions and up-level outcomes for executive-level status reporting.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end Silicon and/or systems development process
  • Strong knowledge on Silicon engineering functions like Design, DFT, DV, PD.
  • Experience in managing complex, interrelated ASIC projects, programs, and functions; working knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a large matrixed organization and achieve results via influence
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and stakeholders management skills.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively and manage competing priorities
  • Expert on scrum and agile methods of program execution.
  • Leader with strong self-driving ability and winning attitude.
  • Experience working in a high-pressure environment and competing priorities and tight turnaround times
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset
  • Experience with Agile methodology

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Around ~20+ years program management or technical leadership experience in SOC execution.
  • BE/B.Tech/ME/MTECH/MS or equivalent ECE/EEE
  • Formal Project Management education, PMP certified.
