Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, development and optimization of design and verification flow. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under limited supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Specific skills required:
Position requires experience in the following:
• Shell, Perl, Python, Groovy, Java, or Ruby;
• Object-oriented programming;
• Data structures and algorithms;
• Database administration and SQL;
• Continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins;
• Version control system such as Perforce or GitHub;
• Cloud clusters or Unix system (RedHat or Debian or Ubuntu); and
• Web application frameworks such as Angular or React.
Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, project, or internship experience.
At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
