THE ROLE:
As a member of the GPU Technologies and Engineering (G&E) group, you will help bring cutting-edge designs to life. As part of the Physical Design team, you will collaborate closely with architecture, IP design, front-end design/integration teams, and product engineers to achieve first-pass silicon success..
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate will work alongside senior silicon design engineers and must be highly accurate and detail-oriented. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Drive STA closure on critical and high performance clocks.
- Apply deep knowledge and experience in Physical Design and full-chip timing to large, challenging, leading-edge designs to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery.
- Provide effective team leadership by mentoring, coaching, and growing the RTG Physical Design team, with a focus on positively influencing team morale and culture.
- Technically lead various aspects of Physical Design, including Clock Tree Synthesis, Placement, Optimization, Routing, Parasitic Extraction, Static Timing Analysis, and Sign-Off.
Contribute to flow development and scripting.
Solve complex technical problems and perform debugging efficiently.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Expert in STA and timing closure on complex SoCs using advanced process nodes.
Extensive ASIC Physical Design experience with the latest process technologies.
Hands-on experience with CAD tools from Synopsys, Cadence, and Mentor Graphics.
Self-starter capable of independently driving challenging, time-critical tasks to completion.
Strong understanding of place & route, timing analysis, clock tree distribution, physical verification, and chip integration.
Proficiency in Tcl, Perl, and Shell scripting.
Experience with 3D stack timing analysis and sign-off is a plus.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelors or Master's degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering.
