THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our IO-EV (Input/Output Electrical Validation) team or IOFV (Input Outout Functional Validation). The successful candidate will focus on the electrical validation of high-speed IO interfaces, particularly PCIe, ensuring that these interfaces meet design specifications and quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the validation efforts for PCIe and other high-speed interfaces such as xGMI and UCIE and Ethernet.
- Conduct Link Quality Assessments (LQA) using in-house designed tools and methods to ensure high-quality link transmissions.
- Perform compliance testing using industry-standard methods to verify the design of IP interconnects.
- Utilize specialized hardware and software for compliance testing, including PCIe5 CEM Compliance tests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug and analyze link/lane issues using internal tools and methods.
- Develop and implement test procedures for electrical validation, including full margining, eye scan tests, and link status checks.
- Ensure compliance with PCI-SIG standards and maintain up-to-date knowledge of PCIe specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive experience in electrical validation and compliance testing of high-speed interfaces, particularly PCIe.
- Proficiency in using test equipment such as high-speed digital oscilloscopes and Bit Error Rate Testers (BERT).
- Strong understanding of signal integrity and PCB design practices.
- Experience with test automation software and compliance testing tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with PCIe Gen5 and Gen6 and Ethernet IEEE specifications.
- Knowledge of UBUNTU Interface functionality related to PCIe, UCIe and Ethernet link.
- Experience with protocol analyzers, exercisers, and traffic generators.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
