SYSTEM MODELING - ML & GRAPHICS ARCHITECTURE ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
As a Lead System Modeling Engineer within the Radeon Technologies Group, you will spearhead the architectural exploration of next-generation ML and Graphics hardware and software solutions. You will develop and utilize advanced system-level models to analyze performance, power, and area trade-offs, guiding critical design decisions and influencing the future roadmap. You will collaborate closely with architects, hardware/software designers, and performance analysis teams to define and validate innovative architectures.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate is a proactive technical leader with a passion for system-level modeling and a deep understanding of ML and Graphics architectures. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills to articulate complex architectural concepts, and the drive to lead innovative modeling initiatives. You are adept at guiding and mentoring fellow engineers and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead the development and execution of system-level modeling strategies for ML and Graphics hardware and software co-design.
* Define, build, and maintain performance, power, and functional models for early architecture exploration and validation.
* Drive trade-off studies for new architectural features, algorithms, and system configurations, providing data-driven recommendations.
* Collaborate with architecture, design, and software teams to integrate models, define workloads, and analyze simulation results.
* Innovate and advance modeling methodologies, tools, and infrastructure to improve accuracy, speed, and architectural insight.
* Mentor fellow engineers and provide technical guidance on system modeling best practices.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* Extensive experience in system-level modeling and simulation for complex hardware architectures (e.g., GPUs, SoCs, ML accelerators).
* Proficiency in high-level modeling languages and frameworks (e.g., SystemC, C++, Python).
* Strong understanding of computer architecture, particularly in graphics and machine learning domains.
* Experience with performance analysis, workload characterization, and hardware/software co-design exploration.
* Familiarity with software stacks relevant to ML (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and Graphics (e.g., DirectX, Vulkan) is a plus.
* Proven ability to lead modeling projects and translate architectural concepts into effective simulation models.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
