THE ROLE:  

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Architect to join AMD's Pro AV / Broadcast / Consumer business unit. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product, you will be part of a team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market.

THE PERSON:  

You will be at the center of driving and growing our Pro AV, Broadcast & Consumer business.  Must be gifted with a good attitude and good aptitude.  Should have a can-do, hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves style with a good mix of solid technical, business, and communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Primary objective: Grow AMD's embedded x86 business within Pro AV / Broadcast / Consumer business unit.
• Secondary objective: Grow AMD's traditional FPGA and SoC business within Pro AV / Broadcast / Consumer business unit.
• Architect and propose embedded x86 solutions that meet the customer's technical and commercial requirements
• Competitive analysis to ensure that we are competitively positioned.
• Convert customer feedback to drive AMD's technology roadmap for silicon, software, and IP (intellectual property).  Influence product planning so that the needs of the business unit are met.
• Business development is a key ingredient because we will be pursuing traditional customers (with a history of engagement) and new customers (with zero history of engagements)
• Outbound marketing.  Create collateral for consumption by sales and customers.  Create demos for sales and customers to emphasize product technology leadership.
• Leverage all resources to support customer evaluation of embedded x86.  Benchmarking and analysis of customer benchmarks will be critical to ensure customer adoption of AMD technology.
• Identify, engage, and grow strategic ODM / design house partners within embedded x86
• Identify, engage, and grow ecosystem partners to scale business
• Work very closely with the worldwide sales teams (internal and external)
• Some travel is involved to expand our engagement with sales, customers, and in support of strategic tradeshows
• Identify new vertical markets to expand into.  Market analysis and research, market-based solution proposals
• Project management, create SoW, define MRD, and engage with external partners to develop custom solutions

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:  

• Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).
• Extensive knowledge of x86 CPU and integrated GPU architecture
• Knowledge of FPGA & SoC
• Windows, Linux

• Extensive knowledge of system architecture in Broadcast, Pro AV, and Consumer
• Video connectivity standards, Video Codec, Ethernet, Camera interfaces, Multimedia frameworks
• Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details 
• Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:  

• Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering
