Job Role and Responsibility: Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Systems Design Engineer to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design, develop, implement, test, and verify systems based on FPGAs. Enhance existing test software for system-level validation and verification of existing and new FPGA features. Design a complete and complex framework, system or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses. Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Debugging issues found during the SOC (System on a Chip) programs bring-up, validation, and production phases. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Drive technical innovation to improve capabilities across product development and validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional initiatives. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: One (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires experience in the following:
- C, C++, or Python;
- Verilog, System Verilog, or UVM;
- Embedded system development;
- CPU or Computer Architecture;
- Performing hardware verification;
- Functional verification of microprocessors; and
- FPGA verification.
Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.
