THE ROLE:

AMD's Data Center Platform Engineering Group {DPEG} is designing, building and delivering innovative technology infrastructure enabling the digital world.  We create cloud-enabling server solutions that help the world's leading companies turn their ideas into reality. As part of the DC Platform Engineering organization, the Technical Program Manager will be responsible for leading the management and execution of AI server and hyperscale server platform programs throughout the product lifecycle, driving design and development activities from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life.

THE PERSON:

In this position, the Validation Technical Program Manager will serve as a key technical program lead for the Platform level validation of server platforms particularly running Microsoft Windows operating systems. The Validation Technical Program Manager will be working in a cross functional team to aid in development and execution of test plans which will verify product functionality, adherence to electrical specifications and production requirements; including software stack and use case testing. The Validation Technical Program Manager will also debug, identify root cause, and resolve issues as they occur.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interface with system architect, mechanical design, platform, firmware and system engineering for a collaboration and leverage in all phases of the design process
  • Exercise judgement in test specifications, requirements, strategies and methodologies for electrical validation, firmware validation and platform level testing
  • Lead test efforts and prepare schedules to track requirements and complete actions including summarizing test results and creating documentation
  • Participate in both internal and customer facing program core team meetings to communicate updates, track progress, and ensure that the validation plan is on track to meet upcoming milestones
  • Provide Internal Server Research & Development Hardware Validation support
  • Collaborate on automation efforts for system validation

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with datacenters and server storage validation, testing, and qualification of hardware and/or software
  • Exposure to computer architecture, storage protocols, PCI Express, and/or networking
  • Exposure to hyper-scale or enterprise servers and storage systems (network, storage, out-of-band management, and monitoring, etc.)
  • Experience with scripting, particularly with PowerShell/Python
  • Experience with creating test cases in QMETRY (test management) along with developing dashboards to assist with tracking test cases to completion
  • Strong knowledge in Validation

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, System Engineering or Computer Application or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, System Engineering or Computer Application
