Job Summary

Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world's largest companies.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an EHS Manager, based in Dundalk, Ireland.

Reporting to the Head of EHS IE & UK, the EHS Manager will be responsible for providing immediate supervision to a group of employees for the implementation of complex activities related to the efficient management of Environmental Health & Safety programs in offices and manufacturing sites to ensure that the required company and government standards and regulations are met.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manage, through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) programs in offices, manufacturing sites, and plants with control results in terms of costs, methods, and employees

  • Develop and administer budgets, schedules, and performance requirements

  • Conduct meetings involving environmental safety, training, and awareness programs

  • Oversee management of contractors working at Anord Mardix locations by reviewing documentation and approving PTWs

  • Provide employees with directions according to established policies and management guidance and act as an advisor to unit, or sub-units and get involved as required to meet schedules or resolve problems

  • Establish and recommend changes to policies which affect subordinate organisation(s).

  • Interact frequently with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers

  • Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.

  • Manage budget and schedule for moderately complex EH&S activities, including costs of contract labor, equipment, and materials

  • Oversee the implementation of H+S specific training for all employees

  • Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Minimum Level 7 EHS Management qualification or equivalent experience in EH&S and knowledge of related regulations, codes, and guidelines

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience

  • Thorough knowledge of ISO: 45001 and ISO: 14001 standards

  • Strong people management skills with experience in a similar EHS management role within a manufacturing business is essential

  • Member of IOSH or NEBOSH

  • Ability to advise on EHS issues and lead day-to-day site EHS activities.

  • Full driving licence is essential as travel between sites is required

  • Fantastic written and verbal communication skills, ability to organise own workload and use initiative

  • Efficient with thorough methods of working Ability to follow through on Corrective Actions and identify positive and negative acts
