Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Principal Engineer - Busway located preferably in one of our Flex or Anord Mardix locations in Ireland or United Kingdom.

Reporting to the Global Head of R&D, the Principal Engineer - Busway role involves driving innovation and development of our market leading global range of busbar / busway systems & products.  

What a typical day looks like:

  • Drive innovation by researching, creating product roadmaps, and implementing new technologies and methodologies to new and existing products
  • Globally lead the technical aspects of Busway R&D projects, setting goals, designs, and approaches to ensure successful completion
  • Provide guidance on complex technical issues and make critical decisions affecting project outcomes
  • Establish and uphold technical standards, conduct design reviews, and provide feedback to ensure all deliverables meet required specifications
  • Mentor R&D engineers, helping them develop technical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Work closely with other departments, such as product management and operations, to align engineering efforts with business objectives
  • Improve engineering processes and workflows, making them more efficient and effective

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in a relevant Engineering or Product Development role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field or equivalent experience is required
  • Master's degree in engineering or related field is desirable
  • CEng (PE in USA & Canada) or be willingness to work towards achieving this certification within a specified timeframe is desirable.
  • Experience of Project Management or Product Management is desirable
  • Evidence of Professional leadership training is required
  • Deep knowledge of electrical systems, including design, development, and implementation of power distribution equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers.
  • Experience leading complex engineering projects, including setting goals, managing timelines, and coordinating with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in English is a must to lead advance technical discussions with international teams and stakeholders.
  • Be technically competent with various software programs, including Microsoft Office, CAD and CFD.
