Summary: 

 

The Reliability Superintendent drives efforts to ensure the desired reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, and safety systems. This position leads efforts to improve the reliability, availability, and maintainability of equipment and systems, thereby optimizing production efficiency and minimizing downtime. The position implements and manages reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs, analyzes equipment failure data, develops preventive maintenance strategies, and collaborates with various departments to ensure the reliability goals are achieved. The Reliability Superintendent works closely with the Reliability Engineer to manage and drive reliability (RCM) programs at the plant level, including lubrication program, vibration program, state inspections, infrared thermography, Condition-based maintenance (CBM), life cycle assets, and risk management for critical plant equipment.

 

What you'll be contributing: 

 

  • Understands and operates according to company programs, policies, and legislative requirements to meet environmental and quality standards and performance objective targets.
  • Advises the Plant Manager/Maintenance Manager on all aspects of plant equipment reliability and function.
  • Manages and supports Special Projects (CAPEX, Major Maintenance, etc.)
  • Provides budget input to the Maintenance Manager.Assists in developing and documenting the CAPEX plan.
  • Works with the Reliability Engineer to develop and monitor the annual equipment shutdown plan, Reliability objectives, and targets.Manages and drives the CBM program.
  • Leads reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) programs to identify critical assets, failure modes, and appropriate maintenance strategies.
  • Leads the activities of the Reliability team FMEAs, Project meetings, etc.
  • Reviews and provides feedback on the status of maintenance plans (daily, weekly, master). Reviews the PM program and ensures proper compliance.
  • Analyze equipment failure data and root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Conducts risk assessments and reliability studies to identify opportunities for improvement in asset reliability and performance.
  • Works with Electrical Planner and Maintenance Planner to manage inventory levels, critical spare list, and motor replacement schedules.
  • Collaborates with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to develop and optimize preventive maintenance schedules and procedures
  • .Mentors and coaches staff to support their personal development.
  • Provides technical training for equipment reliability, plant maintenance, and operations.
  • Manages contractors and/or crews on outage projects for 2-3 annual shutdowns within the West Region.

 

To succeed in this position, you will need: 

 

  • Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. 

  • Minimum 4 Year/ Bachelors Degree in Engineering

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with plant reliability programs.
