Summary:

 

The Senior Project Manager collaborates with Senior Leaders and the Plant team to assist them with achieving and optimizing their strategies, goals, and objectives. This position supports Plants in achieving operational excellence, improving key performance indicators, and recommending actions to maximize efficiency.  The position liaises with Manufacturing & Technical Services and Group Technical Services to gain their assistance with the execution of performance improvement goals and objectives. The Senior Project Manager leads, manages, and actively participates in all specified project(s) facets – from early development to commissioning and turnover. This position provides overall project management and oversight. 

 

What you'll be contributing:

 

  • Effectively manages the organizational structure of projects, including staffing requirements, deployment, performance management, and personnel development of employees and contractors.
  • Manages, monitors, and reports on project budgets, schedules, work quality, and overall performance.
  • Performs regular and systematic field inspections.
  • Establishes a "safety first" culture throughout all efforts managed; Complies with all safety, environmental, and human resource policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and manages stakeholder satisfaction and relationships.
  • Ensures project execution methodology/strategy aligns with Ash Grove Cement's business objectives    
  • Supports plant management in planning and preparing capital expenditure proposals and budgets.
  • Takes an active role in the development of contracts for the project.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

To succeed in this position, you will need: 

 

  • Minimum 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 10 or more years of experience in Project Direction and managing large capital projects
  • Proficient in written and spoken English, effective verbal communication, and listening skills 
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems with high attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Ability to effectively negotiate
  • Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly
  • Ability to interpret complex statistical data
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining productivity
  • Knowledge of engineering and surveying theories, principles, and techniques, especially those regarding mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of project and contract management practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant software packages.
  • Domestic Travel up to 25% required
