Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience

Days/Hours: This will be mainly a day shift job but your team will be working off hours and you will have responsibility for their productivity and training so you will have to come in off hours as needed

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead Quality management programs and procedures including ongoing development and implementation.
  • Maintain product safety and quality systems controls that comply with Company, regulatory, Customer, and 3rd party GSFI audit requirements.
  • Ensure products meet applicable specifications and required documentation.
  • Apply HACCP to implement and manage food safety and quality programs.
  • Support Team Member training and development in quality related procedures.
  • Develop quality specifications and standards for raw materials, in process, and finished goods.
  • Participate as key stakeholder on the customer response team, sales support, and projects.
  • Conduct quality inspections and internal audits to support continuous improvement and third-party audits.
  • Monitor grain pipeline in conjunction with merchants to ensure optimal performance and quality aligns with regulatory compliance and business needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation to comply with record keeping requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify problems and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local regulations of food manufacturing and food products; stay up to date with regulations and compliance.
  • Effectively communicate Food Safety and Quality information to all levels of the organization. 

 

Requirements to be successful in this position:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Baking Science, Biological Sciences, or a related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience leading QA/QC programs in a manufacturing environment
  • 1-3 years of managerial experience in laboratory operations.
  • Plant and Manufacturing knowledge of processes and operations related to flour milling or related food industry is preferred.
  • HAACP and PCQI certifications preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of Quality Standards and Quality Tools to enhance food safety and quality.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills in the evaluation of situations, priorities and project demands.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment promoting Company values.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • This job is not overly physically strenuous
  • You must be able to sit and/or stand and operate lab equipment and to utilize computers
  • Occasionally, you will need to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
  • Able to ascend and descend stairs
  • This job is mainly in a controlled-atmosphere environment, indoors in an office building, but you will have frequent exposure to outdoor and processing areas of the facility
