The Basics
Location: Cherryvale, KS
Compensation: $75,000/yr and up
Days/Hours: Shift Managers will work a 12 hour shift in a ‘4 days on, 4 days off' pattern. They will rotate between 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am every 2-3 months.
Equipment Used: Various equipment and machinery to move soybeans and extract and refine the oil
Material Handled: Bulk soybeans, soybean meal, soybean oil

What you'll be doing:
- Commitment to worker safety, regulatory compliance and adherence to Company policies and procedures.
- Receiving and Transferring soybeans
- Preparing, Cracking and Heating soybeans to extract oil
- Extracting a maximum yield of oil from each bean
- Refine vegetable oil for use in food or as renewable diesel
- Loadout of soybean oil and soybean meal
- Effectively assist with the supervision and management of personnel and operational activities.
- Assist with managing the business plan according to pre-set objectives.
- Be familiar with all operations, systems, policies and procedures including, but not limited to:
- Weighing or measuring materials and products and using scales or other measuring instruments in order to verify specified tonnages
- Manipulating controls, levers, and valves to start pumps, auxiliary equipment, or conveyors, and to adjust equipment positions, speeds, timing, and material flows
- Recording and tracking data such as weights, types, quantities, and storage locations of materials, as well as equipment performance problems and downtime
- Cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and work stations, using hand tools, shovels, brooms, chemicals, hoses, and lubricants
- Observing conveyor operations and monitor lights, dials, and gauges, in order to maintain specified operating levels and to detect equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with preventative maintenance protocols and plant operations.
- Effectively communicate tasks, directives and policies with both senior management and supervised team members.
Requirements to be successful in this position:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Ag Mechanics, Ag Business or similar is preferred
- 1-2 years experience in a processing plant, refinery, mill, or elevator or similar
- Available to work off hours and weekends
- For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
- Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
- Able to pass a criminal background check
