Description
The Baylor College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics/Critical Care at Texas Children's Hospital is recruiting an Assistant/Associate Professor level attending physician to work in the first of its kind Adult Congenital Heart Disease ICU . Located in the newly constructed Legacy Tower of Texas Children's Hospital's Texas Medical Center Campus, the ACHD ICU opened 1/12/2021 and features 16 state of the art acuity adaptable rooms.
ACHD ICU faculty primarily care for critically ill patients aged 16 and above with congenital heart disease. This is a mixture of medical and surgical admissions and includes mechanical circulatory support with ECMO and ventricular assist devices and patients with heart and lung transplants. Additional peripartum or pregnant patients with cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension or ARDS may be admitted from our Pavilion for Women. Faculty will supervise learners and APPs in the ICU environment and participate in QI and research projects. Additional roles in the pediatric cardiac ICU or other Baylor College of Medicine ICUs will be considered as appropriate based on the applicant's training path.
