Position Summary
The overall focus of this position is to support the Bellevue College in the High School program (CHS), a concurrent enrollment program for high school students. The position is expected to become well acquainted with the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) program standards and requires the ability to work in accordance with NACEP and college rules, policies and regulations. The Program Specialist works under the general supervision of the Director of College in the High School and collaborates extensively with Director and the other Program Specialist in the department in carrying out the work of the program. The position advises program participants, parents, staff, faculty, and the public regarding program content, policies and procedures; coordinates meetings and events; coordinates with other staff and programs in the Center for High School programs; establishes and maintains accurate records and files; and performs other duties as assigned.
Pay, Benefits & Work SchedulePosition Salary Range: $45,900/year - $61,296/year
The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Individuals newly hired to Classified position are placed in a salary range based on the WPEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.

The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This is a Classified, overtime eligible position and represented by the Washington Public Employee Association of Higher Education (WPEA-HE).

About the DepartmentThe High School Programs department at Bellevue College serves as the central hub for K-12 partnerships, dedicated to creating accessible pathways for high school students to engage in college-level learning. The department oversees Career Education Options (CEO), Running Start, Career and Technical Education (CTE) Dual Credit, and College in the High School (CHS). CEO re-engages young adults who have left high school, allowing them to complete high school while earning college credits. Running Start offers high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to earn both high school and college credits simultaneously. CTE Dual Credit enables students to gain college credit for career-focused courses completed in high school, supporting career readiness. College in the High School allows students to take college-level courses at their high school, earning both high school and college credit in a familiar environment. Through strong partnerships with local school districts and community organizations, High School Programs promote equitable access to higher education and career pathways, preparing students for successful transitions to college and beyond.
Essential FunctionsStudent Support and Advising
- Provide information about the CHS program via email, phone, or in person, to parents, high school teachers and administrators, such as student enrollment processes, deadlines, training, grading processes, etc.
- Help students troubleshoot issues with ctcLink and other BC systems
- Advise students by answering student questions about entering BC after high school or about transferring CHS credits
- Create accessible resources for students, such as handouts for admissions and enrollment processes for students and teachers. Post all information in the above-mentioned handouts in the CHS website. Assist in reviewing and revising prior to the start of the academic year.
- Make referrals to other BC resources when appropriate
Instructor Support and Program Compliance
- Conduct orientations and information sessions for new CHS teachers and high school counselors, provide accurate information and advice to program participants, students, staff, faculty, and the public on program policies, rules and procedures.
- Communicate regularly with CHS instructors in a professional and timely manner; refer CHS to Bellevue College Faculty Coordinators as appropriate; help CHS instructors understand and navigate NACEP and BC policies and procedures.
- Help new instructors complete onboarding paperwork, navigate human resources processes and gain access to ctcLink and other college systems.
- Work with Faculty Coordinators to gather syllabi, assessments, and other evidence from CHS instructors to demonstrate compliance with NACEP standards.
- Process and track paperwork for CHS instructor stipends.
Program administration and Data Management
- Update College in the High School website as necessary
- Maintain and update College in the High School SharePoint folders for CHS Faculty Coordinator forms, CHS instructor documents, and other records needed by the program.
- Track, monitor, organize and maintain program data, such as registration lists and lists for automatic messaging
- Create teacher placement/prerequisite grids; 1) Send list with student names for teachers to indicate how they meet placement requirements. 2) Receive lists back from teachers and add course numbers and permission codes for students and return them to teachers for enrollment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree. Any combination of relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
- Two (2) or more years full-time experience, or equivalent part-time experience, working in program coordination, student services or administrative support in a higher education setting or other program coordination or administrative support positions.
- One (1) year demonstrated experience working in a customer service setting with the public both on the phone and in-person.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated ability to perform intermediate functions related to Microsoft Word, Excel, database programs, Outlook, and Teams
- Demonstrated experience in resolving customer service issues.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse colleagues and/or students in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret detailed information and troubleshoot and problem solve issues with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, be proactive, meet deadlines and prioritize time-sensitive work.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience with dual enrollment programs.
