RECEIVING LEAD

Responsibilities

Your Role: As the Receiving Lead you will be in charge of accepting deliveries of new inventory and ensuring quality, quantity and cost of product received is accurately defined on invoices.  You will also ensure delivered products meets or exceeds company standards for quality.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist and monitor vendors when entering/exiting the receiving location.
  • Verify quality, quantity, and cost for all deliveries.
  • Scan in all vendor deliveries.
  • Refuse product that does not meet company standards for quality.
  • Secure location after delivery is completed.
  • Enter invoices into the computer.
  • Note any discrepancies in cost and notify Pricebook.
  • Inform store manager of any discrepancies or vendor issues.
  • Follows all safety standards and rules.
  • Completed all required training within specified deadlines.
  • May be called upon to perform additional tasks and duties as requested by the Store Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school degree, equivalent, or two to three years of relevant experience.
  • Basic math skills are necessary.
  • Must be able to read and apply company procedure documents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to greet customers and provide information in an accurate and courteous manner.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks accurately and courteously.
  • Must be able to complete company-sponsored training and required updates within specified training periods.
  • Computer skills required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds throughout a normal shift, moving and stacking merchandise, cleaning, sweeping, shoveling snow.
  • Ability to learn and retain knowledge of vendors and product lines approved to be received at location.  
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Ability to learn and retain product information, and product locations throughout the store, including in storage areas.
  • Ability to work in commercial refrigerators and freezers.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work inside coolers to maintain inventory.
  • Ability to ascend and descend a five-foot step ladder safely.
