Our IS&T (Information Services and Technology) department provides all the required technology and operational support services to run our business here in BMC! We have over 200 servers on premises to support production, disaster recovery, databases, applications and over 1000 servers in Lab environment. IS&T is transformational not only for BMC but also for the customer experience, because we give a 360 degrees view to the customer about the products they should know, opportunities in the pipeline, and any service issues outstanding with the customer. We use cutting-edge technologies to manage BMC's infrastructure and showcase it to the customers – program is called BMC on BMC! BMC is looking for a Senior BI Analyst to join our global IS&T team!
In this role, you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and visualizing data to provide insights and support decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate with a team of BI analysts, as well as other stakeholders, such as senior leadership, data scientists, data engineers, IT, and end users, across various locations.
Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:
• Gather and analyze data from multiple sources, including databases, data warehouses, and external sources, to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that provide actionable insights for business stakeholders. • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to communicate key metrics and performance indicators to business users. • Perform ad-hoc analysis and data mining to answer business questions, uncover opportunities, and solve complex business problems. • Interpret data and analytical results to provide actionable recommendations and insights to business stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning. • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency by validating data sources, performing data cleansing and transformations, and implementing data quality assurance processes. • Collaborate with a team of BI analysts, as well as other stakeholders, such as senior leadership, data scientists, data engineers, IT, and end users, across various locations. To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
• 7+ years of experience as a BI Analyst. • Experience in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc., including development of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations. • Experience working with SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis, and familiarity with database concepts and structures. • Experience in NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or similar platforms. • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling principles is preferred. • Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze large datasets, extract insights, and present findings in a clear and concise manner. • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as a part of a team. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills:
• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. • Relevant certifications in BI, data analysis, or related fields, such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Certified Professional, or similar. • Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and tools, such as R or Python. • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake. • Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, for creating interactive dashboards and reports.

Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The salary listed is just one component of BMC's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
