Description

Catholic Health is currently seeking a Board-Certified Electrophysiologist for Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre and St. Joseph's Hospital in Bethpage to join Catholic Health. This position combines direct patient care with clinical leadership and strategic responsibilities related to developing and maintaining an electrophysiology network within the St. Francis Heart Center enterprise across Mercy and St. Joseph's Hospital.

This position reports directly to the Chairman of Electrophysiology for Catholic Health and the Chairman of the Cardiovascular Service Line.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should be Board-Certified in Cardiology and Electrophysiology with training in complex procedures such as ablation
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical and administrative leadership experience in a healthcare organization or network
  • NYS Medical License and DEA
  • Advanced degree such as MHA, MBA, or Doctoral Degree desirable not required

Salary Range: $580,000-900,000K

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's education, training, skills, licensure and certification, competencies and other relevant experience. The salary range listed does not include any bonuses, incentive pay, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to grow and expand the scope of clinical services at Mercy Hospital and SJH consistent with the vision to ensure that SFH and CHSLI remain the leader in clinical services and educational programs on Long Island related to advanced electrophysiology and cardiovascular medicine.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare System's insurance contracting department to identify opportunities for Center of Excellence recognition and to provide input related to population health initiatives, pay for performance associated with payer contracts
  • Develop and implement initiatives in collaboration with healthcare systems, physician groups, and payers engaged by Catholic Health.
  • Develop electrophysiology ambulatory outpatient programs in communities where Catholic Health operates or desires to operate.
  • Expand the network by working with leadership to identify or develop outpatient facilities inside and outside the system's service area.
  • Monitor and analyze clinical and research trends and identifying areas of opportunity for program development.
  • Understand the trends that affect current and future healthcare business models and shall advise the other members of the executive team about opportunities.
  • Network with physician leadership in similar positions at other health care systems within to acquire knowledge regarding potential opportunities to enhance the network related to the quality and safety of care.
  • Oversee and ensure the highest quality of care and safety within the electrophysiology network that is compliant with all NYS DOH, CMS and other regulatory agencies requirements. a
  • Attend and participate in the required senior leadership meetings at Catholic Health and the St Francis heart Center Network.
  • Ensure that electrophysiology program remain in compliance with / ready for Joint Commission review and/or New York State Department of Health surveys

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting according to the program guidelines and requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with cardiology physician colleagues, nurse practitioners, nurses, and physicians' assistants to promote a cohesive team environment
  • Maintain knowledge of current treatment modalities available to patients and work with administrative leadership to evaluate and/or implement new treatments as necessary
  • Participate in the development of and/or review treatment protocols for patients treated in the practice, ensure all staff are educated in the care of these patients by providing ongoing education.
  • Participate in the development of integrated conferences and performance improvement and quality initiatives across the healthcare System
  • Assist in the optimization and growth of the electrophysiology programs at Mercy Hospital and SJH.
  • Assist senior management in developing relationships with rehabilitation centers and subacute facilities to ensure that patients can be released in a timely and safe manner.
  • Ensure that communications by the staff to referring physicians occur in a timely manner concerning condition of respective patients.
