Job Details
• First Assist at Chambersburg Hospital (BU) part of WellSpan Health
• The Surgical Tech First Assist is responsible for assisting the surgeon under direct supervision throughout the preoperative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases.
• Preoperative may complete a preoperative interview/assessment to assess the surgical site to better aid in positioning.
• Intraoperative Performs specific tasks according to individual surgeon preference utilizing appropriate techniques
• Postoperative Assists with applying any other specific dressing material such as splints or casts
• Specialty Procedures The FA who has appropriate training also performs other procedures under surgeon supervision
• Additional Duties The surgical assistant performs additional duties as delegated by the surgeon in cooperation with state and local policy.

Job Requirements
• 2 years experience required
• BLS Required
• Certifications Required: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required.
• Must care for Covid patients

Schedule Information
• 2245-0715 Sunday-Thursday - 5X8 HR SHIFTS
• INCLUDING CALL WITH 30-MINUTE RESPONSE TIME, WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS AS NEEDED

Additional Details
• All time off and/or scheduling requests must be included in the submission
• Candidates cannot be considered if they have been employed as a perm hire at any WellSpan site within the year.
• WellSpan requires the flu vaccine from September 7 - April 30.
• Travelers must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as of 1/5/2022.
