- Facility in Eastern Nebraska is looking for several traveling Med-Surg nurses. The hospital is looking for both day and night shift coverage.

- ACLS Preferred, BLS
- Nurses are successful on this unit when they can manage the busyness of the day, have good attendance, are a team player, friendly, compassionate, and put patients first.
- Schedule Information
- The shift will be twelve hours, 36-48 hour guarantees.
- Shifts: 0630-1900, 1830-0700
- Travelers will be scheduled. Will approve a limited amount of block scheduling
- Every other weekend requirement
- Holiday Requirements: 1 major, 1 minor
- Unit Specific Information
- Mechanical lifts in every other room
- Big focus on hourly rounding and responsiveness
- This unit typically has multiple discharges and admissions in one day
- They serve patients of all cultures on this unit including Spanish, Karen, Burmese
- Additional Details
- Department: Med Tele / Ortho RN - 4th Floor North & South
- Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients: MedSurg/Tele- joint replacements, fractures, colon resections, COPD exacerbation, prostatectomy, cellulitis, sepsis, ortho trauma, GI bleeds, pneumonia, failure to thrive
- RN's required to titrate drips such as Heparin, lidocaine, and ketamine
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: PCA pumps
- Charge Nurse on each shift, who may take an assignment
- Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit with duties and ratios
- Tele/Monitor Techs on the unit, RN's should have some tele awareness
- Scrubs Color/Dress Code: RNs: Navy Blue
- Unit/department specific orientation: 2 days
- Floating Requirements: Yes to other medical surgical areas or units with MedSurg patients waiting for a MedSurg bed
