BUSINESS CONTROLS MANAGER - TRUST WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? This position is responsible for the development and recommendations of risk metrics for City National Trust & Estates & RBC Delaware Trust. Develop and use established metrics to build appropriate testing to measure and report results. Execute risk assessments for broker dealer, registered investment advisory, trust department and private banking activities. This includes both non-deposit and insured deposit activities and multiple regulatory agency requirements including State of Delaware, OCC, SEC and FINRA requirements. Serve as a risk resource to support the LOB's and 2nd line support functions including but not limited to, Operational Risk, Business Continuity, IT Risk, Vendor Risk, Corp. Security, Compliance, Internal Audit, etc. Responsible for the ongoing development and expansion of the risk assessment and testing programs to ensure key risks are captured, measured and tested accordingly. Assist in the preparation of materials and presentations to1st LOB executives detailing results of their unit's risk results. WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Work collaboratively within the first LOB's and with second line of defense teams to coordinate risk management and testing activities.
- Act as subject matter expert for the activities performed in the division and their associated risk exposures.
- Execute risk assessment programs (e.g. Risk Control Self Assessments, Business Impact Assessments, Vendor Risk Assessments, New Applications) to
- identify and quantify the risks and their associated controls in the division.
- Establish processes to test and report on the performance of risk mitigating controls (e.g. if policies and procedures are being followed, if sign off limits are being exceeded etc.)
- Provide recommendations to remediate risk exceptions and assist with the implementation of remediation plans.
- Coordinate the completion of risk mitigating actions and providing status updates of open/closed issues to senior management and second line risk management functions.
- Develop trend analysis of testing results to help identify key processes, policies and/or practices to ensure corrective action is taken.
- Ensure appropriate colleagues in the division are trained on the applicable risk management practices, reporting, etc.
- Define and report performance metrics and Key Risk Indicators to monitor high risks to the business unit.
- Interface with Internal Audit and Regulators as necessary to help support Banking and Wealth Management activities.

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 8-10 years managing projects
- Minimum 8-10 years within or related to financial services
- MBA, JD, or other advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, Masters, etc.) preferred
- 8 years of experience managing projects
- 7 years in a role requiring complex problem solving
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills - and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like way, and achieve goals without direct control over resources
- Strong emerging end-to-end generalist problem solving skills, e.g.,
- Defining and deconstructing problems
- Prioritizing issues and analysis
- Structuring and building quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses
- Knowledge in Financial Services, Project Management
- Demonstrated ability to Influence change, build relationships, communicate effectively, work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and deliver high caliber results.
- Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
- Diverse problem solving experience
- An outstanding ability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), work well in cross-functional teams
- Quick learning ability, outstanding analytical skills and a structured way of thinking, your attention to details is exceptional
- Operate well under stress, even faced with tight timelines for ambitious deliverables Significant experience in driving operational change with front line to senior leadership personnel
- Excellent relationship and stakeholder management skills
- Be able to handle uncertainty well, and are able to simplify complexity
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? Compensation Starting base salary: $111,408 - $189,738 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
