CLIENT SERVICE ASSOCIATE SENIOR CNS
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This is a hybrid service role that will support select investment account related activities as well as day-to-day banking tasks for clients aligned to the Commercial Banking space. Serve as a registered representative for City National Securities (CNS). Process stock, option, fixed income, and mutual fund transactions for clients of City National Securities. Assist CNS brokerage clients and Retirement Services Clients with transactions and administrative support.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
* Provide support to Investment Officers, Trust Officers, Financial Advisors, CNB colleagues, and client requests across a broad range of brokerage activities for retirement and non-retirement accounts including establishing new accounts, processing account transfers, securities execution and processing, securities settlement, cashiering, corporate reorganizations, restricted stock, dividends, and margin accounts.
* Work with CNS clients to enter equity, option, fixed income, and mutual fund orders into the National Financial Services (NFSC) system in accordance with applicable FINRA regulations.
* Work with CNB colleagues to process employee stock option trades and trades pursuant to SEC 10B5-1 Sales plans.
* Work with National Financial Services on restricted stock processing and trading.
* Primary contact with clients/prospects for day-to-day operational needs, providing proactive, collaborative and consultative support. Responsible for the operational integrity of the assigned area of responsibility.
* Uses knowledge of bank products and services to consistently evaluate new opportunities for growth in relationships and recommending solutions to clients/prospects.
* Resolves problems, answers questions related to client accounts and utilization of bank products and services. Works with clients to assist in operations areas. Works directly with clients in handling all areas of operations (e.g., payments, wires, new accounts, checking and savings account activity, CD's, investments, etc.) to free Relationship Managers from performing these duties. Provide accurate, timely and extensive information to all client inquiries and requests to ensure retention of existing profitable clients.
* Resolves client complaints and takes appropriate action to prevent future problems. Contacts clients regarding overdrafts (or other related problems) and performs follow-up necessary to resolve situation. Determines appropriate method of approach.
* Reviews large deposits and either approves or declines immediate credit based on knowledge of clientele, account balance, account history and other related factors within delegated authority. Approves deposits, transfers, overdrafts, and waivers of fees within specified authority limit.
* Maintains up-to-date knowledge of account activity by reviewing various reports (e.g., rejects, overdraft reports, large item reports, float reports, etc.) on a regular basis. Identifies potential problems and takes appropriate action necessary to avoid financial loss to the Bank
Must-Have*
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years experience in investment and securities market
* Minimum 5 years of direct client services experience required
* FINRA Series 7 and 63 or 66 licenses
Skills and Knowledge
* FINRA Series 24: General Securities Principal
* 5 years experience in client service, banking operations or relationship management support
* 5 years of experience with bank products and services (e.g. deposits, Treasury Services, international, etc.)
* Knowledge of equities, mutual funds, margin accounts, and options required
* Knowledge of SEC and FINRA rules and regulations required
* Excellent verbal/written communication skills in order to interact with all levels of Bank colleagues and clients required
* Demonstrated use of effective sales and communication skills
* Registered Representative with a FINRA Series 4, 53, and Series 57 preferred
