GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of a higher classification and with limited supervision, performs responsible professional planning work in the management of either the Current, Site Plan & Plat, or Long Range Planning Division. Work involves supervising the review of preliminary layouts and final approval of plans under the subdivision ordinance and supervising the review of rezoning applications, exceptions, and modifications to the zoning ordinance. Work also involves assisting in the development of policies and administrative procedures. Supervision is exercised over staff that is responsible for research, report writing, presentations, and related activities. Performs other duties as requested.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in planning or a closely related field (e.g. architecture, environmental science, geography, landscape architecture, political science, public administration, or sociology), and three years of experience in urban or regional planning OR bachelor's degree in planning or a closely related field (e.g. architecture, environmental science, geography, landscape architecture, urban forestry, political science, public administration, or sociology) and five years of experience in urban or regional planning. One year of supervisory experience is required.

Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
