Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for delivering activities associated with the preparation of complex financial analytics and contributing to the development of financial recommendations or advice provided to clients in support of their operations.
What will you do?
- Provide support to Senior Accountant/Finance Manager and operations by gathering data and developing spreadsheet reports for budget proposals; conducting analysis of previous monthly and yearly budget and actuals; review of one time items and further analysis and providing support as needed
- Participate in the review of proposed capital profiles developed as part of the Capital Budget process, for reasonableness and completeness, ensuring that funding options are considered and provide to Senior Accountant/Finance Manager for review and sign-off
- Provide support in preparing recommendations to Operations including analysis of cost drivers and identifying potential areas where financial issues may occur
- Consult with Operations to confirm requirements of the budget adjustment, validated need for change and identify if there are alternatives or other funding sources available
- Initiate approval process, ensuring justification and support for the change is documented through budget adjustment working papers
- Conduct analysis of data to support budget adjustments ensuring that any rate/fee changes are considered; conducting comparisons, benchmarking, forecasting, projections, recovery rations and links to agreements are all part of the considerations as applicable
- Perform budget consolidation and update information in COBS (usually submitted by the Senior Accountant to Operations to prepare all supporting documentation)
- Provide support to Senior Accountant/Finance Manager and operations by producing financial evaluation on the portfolio assessments and providing detailed analysis
- Perform other related duties as required
